Calculator – How to use it and what to watch out for
Why use the calculator?
The Stone in Roll consumption calculator helps you estimate the amount of material you need for your walls, as well as the number of rolls, adhesive and impregnator required. This makes it easier to plan your budget, avoid excess material and reduce the risk of running out of stone during installation.
Available roll sizes
The calculator includes the standard Stone in Roll formats:
- 122 × 61 cm – approx. 0.74 m²
- 244 × 122 cm – approx. 2.98 m²
- 280 × 122 cm – approx. 3.42 m²
- 305 × 122 cm – approx. 3.72 m²
The calculator shows how many rolls of each format you would need, assuming that the entire surface is completed using one selected roll size.
What to pay attention to when calculating?
The calculator results are approximate. When planning your Stone in Roll purchase, consider:
- cuts at edges, corners and around openings (windows, doors, niches),
- potential installation waste and possible cutting errors,
- pattern direction and visual layout (pattern continuity, shade matching),
- wall geometry and inaccuracies (crooked angles, uneven surfaces, vertical deviations),
- extra material for future repairs or additional elements,
- color differences between production batches – best to buy from one delivery.
Therefore, it is generally recommended to add at least 10–15% extra material beyond the clean wall surface. The calculator shows both the base quantities and the quantities increased by 10%.
How to use the calculator?
-
Choose how you want to enter the surface area:
- Height and width of walls – add each wall as a separate row.
- Surface area in m² – enter the total area of all walls.
- In multi-wall mode, enter height and width for each wall. Empty rows are ignored; unnecessary ones can be removed using the “Remove this wall” button.
- Click the “Calculate requirements” button.
-
Read the results:
- total calculated wall area,
- approximate number of rolls for each format (without allowance),
- required amount of 600 ml adhesive and impregnator based on usage rates,
- requirements increased by 10% (values with allowance).
- Based on the results, choose the roll format, add your own allowance (e.g., 10–15%) and adjust the amount of auxiliary materials to your project.
Note: this calculator is a helpful tool but does not replace a detailed project or individual quotation. For large or non-standard installations, we recommend consulting before ordering.
