Lago

The LAGO stone veneer is a natural slate with a multicolored, autumn-inspired palette. Beige, grey, rusty orange, warm browns and soft muted pink tones blend together on the surface, creating an effect of natural patina and a landscape seen from above. Its tactile, irregular texture emphasizes the mineral character of the stone, and each sheet looks different — like a fragment of a unique rock wall. LAGO is perfect for warm, cozy yet modern interiors: from living rooms and kitchens to facades and commercial projects.

Applications

Interior use

  • decorative walls in living rooms and dining areas (e.g., TV wall or LED-lit accent walls),
  • bathrooms and shower zones after impregnation,
  • kitchens — backsplash panels and large surfaces between cabinets,
  • hallways, staircases and communication routes,
  • fireplace claddings (fronts and sides, not in direct contact with flame).

Exterior use

  • accent façade sections and exterior walls,
  • pillars, posts, fences and entrance structures,
  • covered terraces and outdoor relaxation zones.

Furniture and interior elements

  • furniture fronts and tall built-in units,
  • hidden doors that blend seamlessly with the wall surface,
  • kitchen island and peninsula claddings,
  • decorative panels in bedrooms and home offices.

Commercial projects

  • restaurants and bars with a warm industrial–rustic atmosphere,
  • hotel lobbies, receptions and waiting rooms,
  • beauty salons, SPAs and wellness studios,
  • premium retail shops and showrooms where atmosphere and unique style matter.

Creative / non-standard applications

  • photo and video backdrops with a “rust-mineral” character,
  • exhibition structures and display walls,
  • accent ceilings and backlit niche claddings,
  • combinations with wood, black or architectural concrete in custom projects.

Character and finish

  • color palette: beige, grey, rust, browns, subtle pink and violet tones,
  • finish: natural, matte, with a tactile texture,
  • structure: irregular, slightly rough, resembling weathered rock,
  • pattern: geological stains and streaks, “map-like” or cross-section effect,
  • visual effect: warm, cozy, slightly industrial,
  • each sheet is unique — the arrangement of stains and color transitions always differs.

Installation

  • cutting: angle grinder with diamond blade or guide saw,
  • adhesion: dedicated adhesive for stone veneer / stone-in-roll,
  • applying adhesive: notched trowel on substrate or the resin backing,
  • pressing: wallpaper roller or rubber pressing tool for even adhesion,
  • in dry interiors — usually no need for grouting,
  • in wet zones — fill joints with silicone,
  • impregnation: recommended in bathrooms, kitchens and high-use areas,
  • substrate does not have to be perfectly even — adhesive compensates minor irregularities.

Why choose LAGO?

  • natural slate with an exceptionally warm, multicolored palette,
  • autumn, “rusty patina” effect — ideal for warming up modern interiors,
  • each sheet is one of a kind — unique patterns and color transitions,
  • pairs well with wood, black, concrete or steel,
  • lightweight and flexible — can be installed on tiles, drywall, concrete or MDF,
  • suitable for interiors and facades, including commercial applications,
  • creates the look of massive stone cladding without heavy structural load.

Stone on a roll – What is it?

1. Introduction – what is Stone in Roll?

Stone in Roll, also called stone veneer or stone wallpaper, is a cladding material made from a real layer of natural stone that is peeled off from a rock block using resin and fiberglass. The result is an ultra-thin sheet (approx. 2–3 mm) that retains the texture, colour, structure and appearance of natural stone, while being light, flexible, easy to install and resistant to water and weather conditions.

Stone veneer combines the authentic character of natural stone with modern technology, creating a product that is accessible to everyone – even people without construction experience.

2. How is Stone in Roll made? – Production technology

The production process consists of four key layers:

  • Natural slate – 100% real stone layer
  • Adhesive layer – bonds the stone with the fibre
  • Fiberglass – provides flexibility and strength
  • Epoxy resin – stabilises the structure and protects against water

How is the sheet created?
The slate block is heated and then coated with resin, adhesive and fiberglass. After cooling, the resin peels off a thin layer of stone, creating a finished veneer sheet.

3. Properties and technical parameters

  • Thickness: 2–3 mm
  • Weight: approx. 2.5 kg/m²
  • Flexibility: can be installed on arches and columns
  • Moisture resistance: very high

6. Installation of Stone in Roll – practical guide

Tools needed:

  • Angle grinder with diamond blade
  • Pressure roller
  • Notched trowel
  • Polyurethane adhesive

STEP 1 – Surface preparation: clean, degreased, may be uneven; installation over tiles without removal.

STEP 2 – Cutting: angle grinder, saw or heavy-duty knife.

STEP 3 – Gluing: adhesive on the wall or on the veneer, spread with a trowel, press with a roller.

STEP 4 – Joints and wet areas: in dry areas joints are not necessary; in wet zones use silicone and impregnation.

STEP 5 – Impregnation: Fila MP90, Fila FOB, Stone Plus, Fila Satin – repeat every 6–12 months.
