Corten
The CORTEN stone is a sheet of natural quartzite slate in shades of rusty red and warm brown. Its surface structure resembles aged corten steel – slightly rough, with natural discolorations and subtle tonal transitions. It creates the effect of a cozy yet raw wall with an industrial character. It fits perfectly into loft, modern, and eclectic interiors where a strong, expressive stone accent is needed without excessively darkening the space.
Applications
Interior use
- decorative walls in living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms (TV wall, lounge area, accent walls),
- bathrooms and shower zones after impregnation – creating a “rusty” stone effect,
- kitchens: backsplash panels, wall cladding between cabinets, kitchen islands,
- hallways, staircases, and communication routes,
- fireplaces – fronts, sides, modern and loft-style surrounds.
Exterior use
- facade fragments with an industrial or modern character,
- garden walls, terrace structures, entrance zones,
- pillars, posts, and architectural details,
- cladding around doors and entrance gates.
Furniture and interior elements
- flush hidden doors and interior doors aligned with the wall,
- furniture fronts, TV wall units, wardrobes,
- decorative panels behind beds or desks,
- cladding for dressers, tables, islands, and reception counters.
Commercial projects
- receptions, lobbies, and entrance zones in offices and hotels,
- restaurants, bars, cafés – accent walls and bar claddings,
- showrooms, boutiques, retail spaces,
- beauty salons, SPA areas, design studios.
Creative / non-standard applications
- industrial-themed photo and video backdrops,
- display walls, trade show stands, retail islands,
- large panels without visible joints (with proper format planning),
- accent ceilings, niches, and decorative recesses,
- cladding for kitchen islands and bar counters,
- curved or irregular shapes requiring a flexible cladding.
Characteristics and finish
- color: rusty red, brick tones, warm brown, with occasional darker discolorations,
- finish: natural, matte, with a slightly satin mineral sheen,
- structure: irregular, natural, with a fine texture resembling corroded metal,
- visual effect: warm, industrial, expressive – ideal for lofts and modern interiors,
- each sheet is unique – the pattern and intensity of rust-like tones vary between pieces.
Installation
- cutting: angle grinder with diamond blade or guided saw for straight cuts,
- adhesion: dedicated adhesive for stone veneer / stone in rolls,
- adhesive application: notched trowel (on the wall or resin side),
- pressure: wallpaper roller or rubber press until fully adhered,
- in dry interiors – no grouting required, stone can be installed edge-to-edge,
- in wet zones – fill joints and corners with silicone,
- impregnation: recommended for kitchens, bathrooms, showers, and exterior facades,
- does not require perfectly straight walls – adhesive compensates minor irregularities.
Why choose CORTEN?
- natural quartzite slate with an authentic corten steel effect,
- a strong, warm color accent without the need for real heavy steel panels,
- lighter and easier to install than traditional stone slabs or metal cladding,
- flexible – suitable for large surfaces, doors, and built-in elements,
- ideal for both interior and exterior use, including commercial projects,
- resistant to moisture, temperature, and weather (with proper impregnation),
- perfect for loft, industrial, and modern interiors where material character and expressiveness matter.

Stone on a roll – What is it?
1. Introduction – what is Stone in Roll?
Stone in Roll, also called stone veneer or stone wallpaper, is a cladding material made from a real layer of natural stone that is peeled off from a rock block using resin and fiberglass. The result is an ultra-thin sheet (approx. 2–3 mm) that retains the texture, colour, structure and appearance of natural stone, while being light, flexible, easy to install and resistant to water and weather conditions.
Stone veneer combines the authentic character of natural stone with modern technology, creating a product that is accessible to everyone – even people without construction experience.
2. How is Stone in Roll made? – Production technology
The production process consists of four key layers:
- Natural slate – 100% real stone layer
- Adhesive layer – bonds the stone with the fibre
- Fiberglass – provides flexibility and strength
- Epoxy resin – stabilises the structure and protects against water
How is the sheet created?
The slate block is heated and then coated with resin, adhesive and fiberglass. After cooling, the resin peels off a thin layer of stone, creating a finished veneer sheet.
